RCC was pretty great (Jack from WikiHow, who is one of the most singularly chill people I've ever encountered, gave out barnstar trophies; now that's pretty great). I'm totally tired and sick of driving.* My back hurts like a motherfucker; I seem to have twisted it up a week or two ago and despite stretching and chiropractors and what have you it hurts so much I can barely walk (or sit, or stand comfortably).** This weekend, basically, I bought $2500 worth of food, saw old friends, talked about wikis and had a good time.

Now I need to stay home, and work. My library is ridiculous right now; it's a bad time to be trying to get money out of the state of California. Gloom and doom, alas. (Our materials budget: out the window, paid in leprechaun gold). It sucks -- for us, for the users, for the health of our collection. The eleventy hour meeting about it this morning also sucked.

But I will not complain. I am not in the middle of a flood or earthquake. Yikes. (Cf Shanghaiist updates via twitter).

I just wanted to pop in; check in after a crazy weekend and a pretty depressing day today. More reflections about RCC soon, I hope. In the meantime, I leave you with the Inuktitut Wikipedia, courtesy of Brion V., which if you have the fonts installed (native with ubuntu, doubtful for others) is one of the crazy/best languages I've ever seen.

* I have been to San Francisco, San Jose, San Mateo and Palo Alto all twice in the last couple of weeks. That is a crapload of driving, friends -- enough by my count to drive all the way to the Canadian border. The northern one. In Bellingham.
** whether stress, injury, posture or weight-related -- and I suspect all four -- I am taking this as a sign that I need to Change My Lifestyle.
